About Band Close-Up
Band Close-Up shows you a tight crop of a band photo from the Moshradar music pages and four names to choose from. Name the band and your score goes up; name the wrong one and you lose one of your three lives. The run is over when the last one goes.
You start with three zooms. Each one pulls the camera back a step on the band in front of you, and every fifth band you name earns one back. Only bands with a real following and a picture on their page are in the game, and the other three names come from bands in similar genres, so it is not a matter of spotting the odd one out.
Questions
Where do the photos come from?
The same pictures shown on each band's page in the Moshradar music section — the band's own upload where they have one, otherwise their Spotify picture.
How do zooms work?
You start a run with three, and can hold up to five. A zoom pulls back one step on the current photo — there are two steps between the closest crop and the full picture — and every fifth band you name earns one back.
How many lives do I get?
Three per run. Each wrong answer costs one and moves you on to the next band; the run ends when the last one goes. Lives do not come back.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you like over each photo — the run only ends when your lives run out.
What do the squares in my shared result mean?
One per band: a target for naming it at the closest zoom, a magnifier after one zoom out, a picture at full size, and a cross for each band that cost you a life.
