What a press kit is actually for
A booker opening your email gives it about thirty seconds. In that time they need to know what you sound like, whether anyone comes to your shows, and who to reply to. An EPK exists to answer those three things in one click. Everything else — the long biography, the full discography, the influences — is padding that pushes the answers further down the page.
Why a link beats a PDF
A PDF is accurate on the day you export it and wrong from then on. Tour dates move, releases land, the drummer changes. A promoter who saved your press kit in March is looking at March. This one is generated on load from the same data behind our gig listings, so an old link still shows this month's dates.
What to write in the bio
Two paragraphs, maximum. The first says who you are, where you are from and what you sound like — comparisons are fine and genuinely useful here. The second is evidence: who you have supported, what you have released, where you have sold out. Cut every adjective that would be true of any band, and never open with "formed in".
Getting it in front of the right people
The press kit is only half of it. Find the promoters actually booking your kind of show by looking at who is putting on gigs near you — our city pages list what is on and where, which is a faster way to build a target list than searching blind. What is an EPK?
An electronic press kit — the one link you send a promoter, venue or journalist instead of an email full of attachments. Bio, photos, music, live history and contacts, laid out so somebody can skim it in thirty seconds and act on it.
Is the Moshradar EPK builder free?
Yes, and there is no subscription. Most EPK hosting charges monthly. Moshradar is a gig guide, not an EPK company — a band with a working press kit is a band whose listings stay accurate, and that is worth more to us than a subscription.
Do I need to build it myself?
No. If your band has played a listed show or has a Spotify profile we have synced, the press kit already exists — search your name above. Claiming the page lets you replace the auto-written bio, add a press quote, and set the booking email you want used.
Does the press kit stay up to date?
Yes — dates, releases and follower counts are read live every time the page loads. That is the main thing it has over a PDF.
Can I use it as a PDF?
Print the page from your browser; the layout is built for it. Send the link where you can, though — a PDF is out of date the moment a date moves.
