Selling merch on moshradar.com

Creator terms

For bands and promoters who design and sell merch here. Ticking "I own, or have the right to print, everything in this design" in the merch studio means you agree to these. The buyer's side is in the terms of sale.

Who does what

  • Moshradar, BL3 1EJ, is the seller. Fans buy from us, not from you: we take the payment, handle refunds and returns, and pay you a share.
  • Printify (printify.com) is the print-on-demand service we use. It passes each order to a printer in its network, which prints the item when it is ordered and posts it. At the moment: Unisex T-shirt by Print Clever; Pullover hoodie by Print Clever; Tote bag by Fulfill Engine. We choose UK printers so items are printed and posted in the UK.
  • Stripe takes the fan's card payment. We never see card numbers.
  • PayPal is how we pay you.

Your design

You confirm you own, or have permission to print, everything in it: logos, artwork, photos, lettering. It stays yours. By publishing it you let us, for as long as it is on sale and until every order for it has been posted and its return window has closed:

  • send the print file to Printify and its printer to make the items fans order;
  • show the product and its mockups on your band page or profile, your link page, your press kit, the merch shop and the homepage.

Pictures you add in the studio stay in your browser; only the finished print file is sent, and our server keeps no copy. Printify keeps that file in Moshradar's Printify account so it can print each order. When you take a product off sale we delete it at Printify and archive the file there, as soon as any order still being made for it has been posted.

If someone tells us a design infringes their rights, or it breaks the site terms, we can take it off sale while we look. Email moshradar@gmail.com and we will tell you why.

What a sale pays you

You set the price, between a floor and a cap for each item. Here is one unisex t-shirt at 25.00 pounds, with today's numbers:

The fan pays£25.00
Garment and printing (Printify), printed by Print Clever−£11.72
Card fee (Stripe, about 1.5% + 20p)−£0.58
Returns allowance (3%)−£0.75
Margin£11.95
Your share (85%)£10.16
Moshradar's share (15%)£1.79
  • Postage (£2.88 for one item in the UK) is paid by the fan on top of the price and goes to the printer at cost. It is not in these sums and neither of us makes anything on it.
  • Printing costs vary by size and colour. The price you set is the smallest sizes' price; a size that costs more to print (a 2XL, a bigger poster) costs fans more by that much, with the card fee and allowance on it, rounded up to the next 50p, so you earn about the same on each. The example and the studio's estimate use the cheapest size. Your statement uses the real cost of each item sold.
  • The card fee is Stripe's actual fee on the order when we have it, otherwise their published UK rate.
  • The returns allowance pays for refunds and reprints: faulty or lost items, and returns under the 14-day right to change one's mind.
  • The floor. Moshradar keeps at least £1.00 on every item after your share. The lowest price you can choose for an item is the one that leaves that, rounded up to the next 50p; for a unisex t-shirt today it is £19.50. Above the floor, every extra pound is split 85/15 after the card fee and allowance on it.

When you are paid

  • An item counts once the printer has posted it.
  • On the 3rd of each month, everything posted in the month before is settled. A statement with every sale and every number above goes to each verified member of the band, or to the promoter's account. A shirt posted on 10 October is on the statement of 3rd November.
  • If your total is £10.00 or more, we send it by PayPal within a few working days of the statement. Under that, it carries over and is added to the next month.
  • If you stop selling with less than £10.00 carried over, email us and we will pay it anyway.
  • We need only a PayPal email address, and optionally the name for the statement. We keep no bank details.
  • What we pay you is your income. You are responsible for any tax on it.

Refunds

If an order is cancelled before it is printed, it never counts. If an order is refunded in full after it was posted but before that month is settled, it drops out of the settlement and earns no share. A partial refund, or any refund after the month is settled, comes out of Moshradar's part, not yours.

Changes

Your share, the returns allowance, the minimum payout and Moshradar's minimum per item are settings we can change. A change applies to items settled after it, including items sold before it that have not been settled yet. A month already settled keeps the numbers on its statement. We will email you before we lower your share.

Stopping

You can take any product off sale at any time from your merch dashboard. Orders fans have already paid for are still printed and posted, and still count towards your share.

Your details and the fans'

For merch we keep your PayPal email, the name for the statement, your products and their sales. You can see each sale's order reference, item, colour, size, date and status. Fans' names and addresses stay with us, Stripe and the printer, and are not shared with you. Our privacy policy has the rest.
